Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has reconfirmed that their upcoming handheld console Playstation VITA will be region free. This means that gamers will be able to play PS VITA games from any region.
At E3, Sony executive Michael Denny said that importing games from other countries won't be an issue with PS VITA, as the handheld is region free, though he qualified it by noting this was the case as far as he knew.
A cent percent sure answer was provided today by Shuhei Yoshida. On Twitter a fan asked Shuhei Yoshida whether PS VITA is region free. To this he replied, "Yes, it is."
This is definitely great news for gamers in NA and Europe. They will be able to import Japanese-only Vita games without looking into the factor whether they will work or not.
